New song!
I’ve had this one ready for release for atleast a week, but I couldn’t come up with a decent name for it. It’s a 140bpm psy/goa track with many classic elements. Enjoy!
edit: Forgot the link! Doh! “Destination Cairo” (5:05) 5.9MB

I finally managed to crank out a new tune. This one is a bit different from my other songs, I think. I categorized it as “Easy Listening”, because it’s… well… Easy listening. Ehm. Anyway, the title for this track came to me when I was thinking about how fast this last year has gone by. Next month, my son will be one year old. Unbelievable!
Anyway, I could have done a lot more polishing on this one, but I didn’t feel like it. My playground - my rules! :) Enjoy!
“A passing moment” (3:37) 4.6MB
I get some clicks from web pages dealing with space music. What is space music? You know, Laser Dance, Koto, Proxyon and so on. Some might call it “Italo” even. Anyway, all my music is influenced by the group Laser Dance, which I listened extensively to during the early 90’s. However, the end result might not always sound like something you would call “space music”. In fact, it doesn’t sound like that at all. One of my songs, “Master Switch” is somewhat true to that genre. But that song was released ages ago! And that bothers me. I need to get back to my roots and produce some new space mooosik right away. Can’t promise anything (as usual), but I’ll do my best to get some of my space music songs finished and released.
My son (5 months old, Sep 2005) is to become a pro musician like his father. “His father is what? Pro? Mohahahaha”. OK, maybe not “pro” but atleast some sort of hobby musician. I don’t want to pressure him of course, but my plan is to introduce music and music making gradually over the course of his upbringing. Now that I’ve written this, he’s not going to become a musician at all. I’ve jinxed it. Oh well. I’ll love him just as much. :)
Anyway, a childrens song (”Videvisan”) got stuck in my head a couple of days ago, and for the life of me, I couldn’t get rid of it. What to do? Make a cover of it. The result can be heard here: Videvisan (4.5MB). The original is (as far as I know) composed by Alice Tegnér and the lyrics are written by Zacharias Topelius (spelling?).
Enjoy!
I actually found time, don’t ask me how, to finish a new tune. That’s the good news. The bad news is I can’t release it here. It’s a cover. According to my understanding of the Swedish copyright laws, you have to get a license (from STIM) for the song in question in order to release a cover on the internet (or some other medium).
Anyway, I got really sick of that “Crazy Frog - Axel F” cover that’s been playing all summer, so I made my own version. I’m quite satisfied with it. It’s a damn shame I can’t release it. Of course, I’m quite convinced that nothing would happen if I did. I mean, come on, about five people worldwide would find it and download it. But I wan’t to play by the rules…
Speaking of covers, a couple of months before my son was born, I did a trance version of the title theme from “Star Trek Voyager”. Guess I can’t release that one either. Sigh. Oh well, it felt great creating some music again.
