Hi folks! Been thinking about redesigning my site (dempa.init5.net) from the ground up for some time now. Writing a new framework (utilising HTML::Mason of course) would be kinda fun. On the other hand, it’s quite a lot of work and I really don’t have the time right now. Anyway, was browsing through some blogs’n stuff the other day and I stumbled upon WordPress 1.5. Haven’t given these open source blogging solutions much thought before. Why not? Well, you know, I’m a coder… I like to “roll my own”.
“Luckily” for me, I get to do some coding (and design) even if I switch to using WordPress for my personal site. So far I’ve whipped up my own theme and made a small stub for a WP Template that will be used to showcase my songs (“My music” in the menu on the right). My former site had lots of logging, stats and stuff, but I think I’ll let that go now. I mean, it’s cool to know that people download my music, but not how many per day and so on.
Time will tell if this is the road I want to take…
