Hay-fever

It’s that time of year again. Hay-fever time. When I was younger, I only used prescription drugs, but as I grew older, I found that the non-prescription ones worked just as well. This year I’ve been trying out a new pill, but I can’t tell the difference really. I’m “lucky” to only get hay-fever from birch pollen. I have friends who are allergic to grass and stuff like that.

Anyway, no new music. :( Since I released “A passing moment”, I’ve barely started my sequencer. Why, you ask? Well, I’ve been busy. With what? Ehm, I don’t know! Somehow I don’t get time to sit down and really be productive anymore.

Totally unrelated: I’m trying out the blogging client Ecto (available for Mac OS X and Windows). This post was written using it. So far I’m not sure why I would need a desktop client for writing my once a month posts. :) Nice program though.

New song released

I finally managed to crank out a new tune. This one is a bit different from my other songs, I think. I categorized it as “Easy Listening”, because it’s… well… Easy listening. Ehm. Anyway, the title for this track came to me when I was thinking about how fast this last year has gone by. Next month, my son will be one year old. Unbelievable!

Anyway, I could have done a lot more polishing on this one, but I didn’t feel like it. My playground – my rules! :) Enjoy!

Server problems

The server dempa.init5.net is running off is experiencing some severe hardware problems. The power supply was shot to pieces sometime last night and the motherboard has probably been affected somehow. I’ve managed to bring everything back up on a spare power supply and on “BIOS Defaults” (since entering the correct values seems to make it unable to boot).

Sigh!

A bit tired…

Yaaaaaawn! I’ve been working since around 8am. Yesterday. You know how it is. Planned server maintenance at work. Everything looks fine until suddenly a very important server won’t boot up. 28 hours later, there you are. New server in place and all services restored. Zzzzzzzzz….

FireBug

I’ve been trying out this cool new Firefox extension tonight. It’s called FireBug. It’s purpose is to help you debug Javascript, DHTML and Ajax (XMLHttpRequest). According to the webpage over at mozilla.org, it’s “like a combination of the Javascript Console, DOM Inspector, and a command line Javascript interpreter“. When opened, it places itself at the bottom of the browser window and it only shows errors from the webpage you are currently viewing. It also has a nifty statusbar error indicator that shows how many errors were found on the current page.  Cool stuff!
