Yaaaaaawn! I’ve been working since around 8am. Yesterday. You know how it is. Planned server maintenance at work. Everything looks fine until suddenly a very important server won’t boot up. 28 hours later, there you are. New server in place and all services restored. Zzzzzzzzz….

January 19th, 2006 by dempa 1 comment »I’ve been trying out this cool new Firefox extension tonight. It’s called FireBug. It’s purpose is to help you debug Javascript, DHTML and Ajax (XMLHttpRequest). According to the webpage over at mozilla.org, it’s “like a combination of the Javascript Console, DOM Inspector, and a command line Javascript interpreter“. When opened, it places itself at the bottom of the browser window and it only shows errors from the webpage you are currently viewing. It also has a nifty statusbar error indicator that shows how many errors were found on the current page. Cool stuff!
Trying out the del.icio.us playtagger
January 7th, 2006 by dempa No comments »I’m currently trying out the del.icio.us playtagger. It’s a small javascript that enables every mp3 link on your webpage to be played directly in your browser (via a small flash program). It also enables you to tag that piece of music directly to your del.icio.us account. All mp3 references on my page will have a small “play graphic” next to it now, except on the music page – those links are not regular links and are not covered by this little script.

Upgraded to WordPress 2.0
December 29th, 2005 by dempa No comments »WordPress 2.0 was released on December 26 2005. Tonight I decided to take it for a spin. It was a fairly painless upgrade process. The big changes are hidden in the background code, but some nice things can be seen in the administration interface, like a WYSIWYG post editor, some AJAX-tweaks, a nice post preview function etc. Also, the Akismet spam prevention plugin is now built in from scratch. Some third party plugins may not work correctly after an upgrade, but you can always check the 2.0 Plugin Compatibility List before upgrading.

What’s up?
December 22nd, 2005 by dempa 1 comment »Christmas is only a few days away. Here in Sweden we celebrate on Christmas Eve, not Christmas Day. Anyway, music making has been non-existent for the last couple of months. However, I’ve renovated my kitchen from the ground up the last two and a half weeks. New floor, new ceiling, new cupboards, new oven, new microwave, new stove etc. I’m quite satisfied with the end result. There are some minor things left to do though. Hopefully I’ll get around to them during the holidays. Today was my last work day this year. I’m going back to work January 9.
